Polar Bears
and the Northern Lights
Did you know that the fur on polar bears is translucent and hollow? Did you know their skin is black? Well, all you have to do is ask a kindergarten student!
We began this project by watching a video clip of a mama polar bear with her two cubs! After learning about their fur and how they swim and survive in such a cold place, we made our own polar bears! Some of them look like they were wearing extra layers to deal with the cold! |

Line and Shape
Three Dimensional Sculpture
This lesson packs a lot of learning in a fun sculpture! First we practiced drawing six shapes on our paper strips: circle, square, triangle, rhombus (diamond), oval, and rectangle. We then learned that two dimensional paper can create a three dimensional sculpture. We also practiced using markers and glue!
